New Year, New Me...Nah.
So, New Year resolutions overrated to some, yes, but goal setting is definitely not overrated! How are they different? One is made just because another year is starting, the other because you want to achieve something when you feel it is your time to do so. Can goals be set at the beginning of the year, of course! Set new goals because you want to make a change in your life, not because time is casually rolling along. I try to set new goals that are attainable and seemingly unattainable. I think that it is always a good idea to set goals that are a wee bit farfetched. Why? Setting goals that are long-term and farfetched push you to make small steps towards achievement. So, I say always set one big goal and chip away at attaining it by setting “mini-goals” to help you on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. In doing so, you may achieve something you never thought possible. My goal this year is to be awesome to myself and others around me. I want to make a difference in someone’s life. ~CJB
